Tzitzifrikia is an audio-visual duo which performs and produces sonic and visual material. The creative process is equally based on music and image, creating this way a co-dependant relationship between both mediums.
Tzitzifrikia follow and record sounds from their everyday life, and mash them into electronic and/or percussive environments. These electronic elements most of the times take the form of rhythmical structures which give foundation for guitar, vocals and drums, or become more ambient sonic landscapes. All these interact and connect with texts, sounds and a personal visual archive [a] which also derives from documentations of our everyday surroundings. In some shows, both music and videos/images/texts are assembled live, creating a unified audio-visual set.
This collaboration started in 2018 based on our common need for working together and creating material that carries our personal "load ", and to share it honestly with the world.
We are Marina Fragkioudaki and Sotiris Ziliaskopoulos.
